I have always loved Don Bluth's style and ever since I went to this Insider's Day at my old college to see him and Gary Goldman talk about their movies I've been wanting to figure it out and draw in it. I have been working on it a bit lately and I had the need to see a red panda done in that style. They just seemed too perfect for his style of caricature with their big foreheads, chubby/fluffy bodies, huge fluffy tails, pawhands, short stature, wide/flat muzzles etc..
It's not perfect by any means at all but it's getting closer!
I name him Bedhead because I was thinking of this picture when I drew it:

I always thought the panda in that picture just had so much character and I need to draw him. He looks exhausted and disgruntled.

This picture is adorable! I love the expression. :) I'd say your representation has quite a bit of character in and of itself.
One thing I noticed about the Bluth style that seems to be one of its signatures is the "chewy" mouth style, very flexible and loose. Somewhat rubbery face all around, but usually centered on the mouth.

thank you! :D I agree everything does seem centered around the mouth. I think that's why I went with mouth open for the pose. haha.
